Third Thursdays Blog Hop - Last Minute Lucy

Here we are again with our Third Thursdays Blog Hop...and with us still gaining momentum in participation, as well as being in the throes of a busy holiday season, the hop will be short but sweet! This month our theme for the hop is Last Minute Lucy, and I chose to use the Signs of Santa stamp set on sort of a Throw Back Thursday project. It's a revival of my Lindt Truffle Box from THIS POST. {you'll find individual Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll - coming soon...}

This is the old project...from 2012...!

There is actually an old VIDEO TUTORIAL for this box on the old post...you can go directly to the video on YouTube HERE.

These are the new projects for 2018!!!

Wow, I am having a lot of trouble adjusting to using my new computer and the new software for my photos and editing, so I am going to leave this post here for right now. I'll be back tomorrow after I take more time to understand what I'm doing, and to add more pictures and give you some more detail.

What you might want to know for now is that there is a bow strung through the top of each of these boxes, which I will use to hang them like an ornament. That's what the sort of wad of bow and twine is at the top. If you don't plan to hang them, you can just do the square knot at the bottom of the Santa/Ms. Claus box, and the square knots at the top and bottom of the elf box.

Stampin' Supplies: Signs of Santa stamp set, Santa's Signpost Framelits, Poppy Parade Cardstock, Garden Green Cardstock, Whisper White Thick Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends, Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends, Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blends, Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, Clear Wink of Stella, 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch (optional, to string bow through to hang like an ornament), Garden Green & White Striped Twine, SNAIL Adhesive (or Tombow Liquid Glue, for box), Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer (for cutting & scoring.

Third Thursdays Blog Hop - Gratitude

This is only the second month of our Third Thursdays Blog Hop...so we are small in number, but mighty in inky fingerprints!. This month our theme for the hop is Gratitude, and I chose to use the Falling for Leaves Stamp Set. {you'll find individual Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll}

I just returned from a Stampin' Up! event called OnStage LIVE that was held in Orlando, Florida. At the event, one of the things we were challenged to do was to create #simplestamping projects, which are projects created with just stamps, ink, and paper. The idea is to use just ONE stamp set, and not a lot of extra doodads like punches and dies, and other tools. I *might* have cheated by using Linen Thread, but it is a very simple and cost effective embellishment.

You can't get any simpler than using the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes, because in just one package you get 20 cards that are already cut and scored, and you get 20 envelopes that fit them. (I could only get one pic before my camera died, so you'll have to imagine the envelope!) I also used 4 ink pads on my card, starting with Early Espresso for the greeting. Each of the leaves were inked up fully, then stamped off once on Grid Paper (or scratch paper), to create lighter hues of Cajun Craze, Melon Mambo, and Mint Macaron on the card.

Stampin' Supplies: Falling for Leaves stamp set, Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes, Early Espresso ink pad, Mango Melody ink pad, Cajun Craze ink pad, Mint Macaron ink pad, Linen Thread, Paper Snips (to trim the Linen Thread), Grid Paper.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Circle Theme

Welcome to the November 2018 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring a CIRCLE theme! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, so be sure to come back regularly. This month my project features coordinating products from the Limited Edition Snowflake Showcase product offering, available ONLY through November 30th!
(see specific Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)

I wasn't really sure what I was going to come up with for this blog hop, but I received the Swirly Frames stamp set for FREE months ago and I have never used it, so I knew I wanted to get ink on that! I combined it with the Snow is Glistening stamp set, and the coordinating Snowfall Thinlits Dies. These products, and a few more, are available for a limited time through November 30th...or while supplies last! Be sure to check out the Snowflake Showcase to get your favorite products before they are gone!

For this project, I used the *back* of a couple of the photopolymer stamps, stamped off one or two times with a few images to get them a lighter, and even used a couple of circles of Vellum Cardstock (punched with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch) to ensure the softer look was preserved. I used only the Balmy Blue Ink Pad and the Highland Heather Ink Pad for the images. And I only used Balmy Blue Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock for this project.

The final details include one of the Snowflake Trinkets (you get 20 per container), which is another of those Snowflake Showcase offerings that is ONLY available through November 30th, or while supplies last...so be sure to snag yours ASAP. I colored the center clear rhinestone of the Snowflake Trinket, as well as 3 Rhinestone Jewels, with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends marker before applying them to the card. And lastly, that little splash of color peeking out from below the greeting, is the Gorgeous Grape 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon. Because of its lustre, it has a lighter hue that coordinates perfectly with the Highland Heather Ink Pad.

Just to recap my assembly of the card...I used the *back* of the large circle from the Swirly Frames stamp set in the Balmy Blue Ink Pad, and I stamped it off TWICE before stamping on the card. The smaller circle from the Swirly Frames stamp set was inked in the Highland Heather Ink Pad and stamped off ONCE before stamping on the card. I used the *back* of the larger snowflake image from the Snow is Glistening stamp set in the Highland Heather Ink Pad, also...stamping it off THREE times before stamping on the card.

Those two images are further softened by placing Vellum Cardstock, punched with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, adhered over the top with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional right in the center. I used the Snowfall Thinlits Dies (another Snowflake Showcase offering), to cut the two snowflakes from Balmy Blue Cardstock, and I adhered those to the top of the Vellum Cardstock using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. The Snowflake Trinket was adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.

NOTE: If you are the type of crafter who does better with a video demonstration, I will be doing a Livestream of this project soon...you can follow me on My Facebook Page to get notification, HERE.

Stampin' Supplies: Snow is Glistening stamp set, Swirly Frames stamp set, Gorgeous Grape 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon, Balmy Blue Cardstock & Ink Pad, Highland Heather Ink Pad, Whisper White Cardstock, Vellum Cardstock, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Snowfall Thinlits, Snowflake Trinkets, Rhinestone Jewels (colored with Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends marker), SNAIL Adhesive (for card layer), Fine Tip Glue Pen (for snowflakes and ribbon), Mini Glue Dots, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer (for cutting & scoring), Simply Shammy (for cleanup of photopolymer stamps).

We Create Gratitude Blog Hop

Welcome to the November 2018 We Create GRATITUDE Blog Hop!!! My card for the hop features the Falling for Leaves stamp set. I want to be sure you know that this set is also available in a BUNDLE with the Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies for 10% OFF...but I didn't use the dies on this project.
(scroll to the bottom of this post for ALL product purchase links)

This is a card we did at a Library class - I got this layout idea from a card in the 2018 Holiday Catalog (see below). You can also see the samples in My Online Store, this one can be found in the Falling for Leaves stamp set listing. I love getting inspiration from all the samples in the catalogs!

The lovely ribbon on Stampin' Up!'s sample card is the new Tranquil Tide 1/4" Velvet Ribbon. Once again, I kinda cheated with my project, because I actually had a bunch of retired Tranquil Tide ribbon that I used on my card instead. And I sandwiched some Copper Metallic Thread between the greeting and the ribbon.

The Falling for Leaves stamp set has the 'Thankful' greeting in it, and also has another greeting that says 'harvest of thanks'. When we made the card at the Library, folks could choose either greeting. I made the strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock big enough to accomodate either one.

Here you can see some of the different leaves from the set. I used Mint Marcaron, Crushed Curry, Mango Melody, and Tranquil Tide ink pads. Unlike the Stampin' Up! sample, I used a different color ink for each leaf/foliage image, so we didn't have to worry about cleaning off the stamps in between.

The card comes together quickly if you just stamp each image a few times around the outside of the card, starting with the darkest color, then finally using the lightest color to fill in at the end. I will probably do a Facebook Livestream on My Business Page so you can see how easy it is to create this card. You can either go follow me over there to get notification, or you can just check back here and I'll update this blog post with the link.

Stampin' Supplies: Falling for Leaves stamp set, Whisper White Cardstock, Mint Macaron Cardstock & Ink Pad, Tranquil Tide Ink Pad, Mango Melody Ink Pad, Crushed Curry Ink Pad, Tranquil Tide 1/4" Velvet Ribbon, Gold Metallic Thread, Simply Shammy, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut & score card stock). Don't forget Whisper White Medium Envelopes to mail your cards!
