Shaving Cream Marbling with Stencils and Paper Pumpkin

Waaaaaaaayyyy back in October, I made a pretty Fall card that was inspired by the Season of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin Kit. Then I ended up feeling like poo for months, so I never took pictures or posted it. Recently, Stampin' Up! came out with a video tutorial for the Shaving Cream Marbling Technique, which I used for the background layer on the card, so it's the perfect time for me to show you the card.

Stampin' Supplies: Vintage Leaves stamp set, Suite Sayings stamp set, Basic Gray Archival ink pad (also Stampin' Sponge to highlight punch shape), Best Badge Punch, Basic Gray card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Cajun Craze card stock and reinker, Delightful Dijon card stock and reinker, Pumpkin Pie card stock and reinker, Shaving Cream.

Here is the video tutorial for the Shaving Cream Marbling Technique:

I had actually gotten the idea to use the Shaving Cream Marbling Technique with Stencils, from a Splitcoaststampers tutorial (which I'll embed below) and I thought the October 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit (Season of Gratitude) would be perfect. I could use the layer with the leaves cut out, for my stencil! I used that layer for stenciling *before* I put together the cards as they were intended from that kit. That's the card at the lower left below. By the way, that card is a shaker card, the Paper Pumpkin kit makes 8 of them (plus envelopes) and includes everything you need to make all 8 cards except the shaving cream & reinkers I used over the cut outs! The picture on the lower right shows the layer of card stock onto which I stenciled the shaving cream. On that card, I also used the positive images of the die cut leaves, to sponge over with a VersaMark ink pad for a background.

Stampin' Supplies: {for Paper Pumpkin card at bottom left} October 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Season of Gratitude, Cajun Craze reinker, Delightful Dijon reinker, Pumpkin Pie reinker, Shaving Cream.

Stampin' Supplies: {for stenciled card at bottom right} October 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Sahara Sand card stock and ink, Stampin' Sponge (for edges of punch and stenciled layer), Very Vanilla card stock, Best Badge Punch (for greeting layer, plus to trim ends of banner layer), VersaMark ink pad, Cajun Craze card stock and reinker, Delightful Dijon reinker, Pumpkin Pie card stock and reinker, Shaving Cream.

Happy First Date-a-Versary Card + MORE Sale-a-Bration Freebies!

I wanted to share a First Date Anniversary Card I made for my sweetie...March 17th was our date :-) I tried to make it sort of neutral, but I had to add the little pink heart! It's hard to get the sparkle of the copper thread to show up, but it looks pretty cool in person (even if I do say so myself!).

Below is a close-up of the stamping in the corner, and the little heart. You can see my stamping has a little shadow sort of look in some places, but I stamped on the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper, so I just stuffed my perfectionist and went with it.

Stampin' Supplies: Grateful Bunch stamp set, Playful Backgrounds stamp set (for circles in background), Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, Basic Black Archival ink pad, Pool Party card stock and ink pad, Always Artichoke card stock, Copper Metallic Thread, Subtles Enamel Shapes (heart), Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, also...I used Scotch Tape to hold the metallic thread on the back.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop: Design Sketch Challenge

Welcome again to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, that runs the first Friday of every month! You'll see projects from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world in this blog hop. My name is Kimberley Morris, and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA).

This month we have a Design Sketch Challenge to work with, you can see the sketch below. Although the sketch is shaped like a card, my take on it is a 3D project. My theme is Easter, but this sweet little gift bag can be changed up to fit any occasion!

Once again I'm going to feature the Basket Bunch photopolymer stamp set, along with the Basket Builder Framelits Dies. You can get these items together as the Basket Bunch BUNDLE, and SAVE 10%. I'm also featuring the Stitched Shape Framelits (for the circle), and the Classic Label Punch (for the saying), with the "Happy Easter" greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (available in wood-mount or clear-mount).

I do have a pattern for this bag that I'll share shortly...probably with a quick video tutorial. To give you an idea of the finished size of this project, the bottom patterned paper layer is 2-1/2" x 4". If you'd like to be notified when I post the instructions, you might want to Subscribe to My Blog by Email. If you click that link and subscribe, then every time I post to my blog, you will get an email notification at the email address you sign up with!

Stampin' Supplies: Basket Bunch BUNDLE (Basket Bunch stamp set + Basket Builder Framelits), Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags, Kraft card stock (to reinforce bottom of bag), Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White card stock, So Saffron card stock and ink, Soft Sky card stock and ink, Tip Top Taupe card stock, Chocolate Chip ink, Basic Gray Archival ink pad, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Mini Paper Clips Combo Pack, Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine, Basic Rhinestones (colored with Sharpie marker), Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Fast Fuse, Stampin' Trimmer.

FYI: the Watercolor Pencils went into backorder for a short time, and a shipment came in so they are orderable again RIGHT NOW, and expected to go on backorder again in maybe 3 weeks...so RUN over to my Online Store and get them while you can!!! Don't forget to grab at least one pack of Blender Pens with them.

Hang in There! - March Step It Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the March 2017 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My project this month features the Yummy in My Tummy stamp set (see stamp set pic below projects)...it's not just for Valentine's Day!

This was intended to have a greeting inside that says, "Hang in there", which is in the Here for You stamp set (available in wood-mount or clear-mount). However, I never ordered that stamp set so I was just going to write it by hand inside...then I got my Step-It-Up idea...

Stampin' Supplies: Yummy in My Tummy stamp set, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Smoky Slate card stock, Pool Party card stock, Pink Pirouette card stock, Basic Gray Archival ink pad, Watercolor Pencils, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Subtles Enamel Shapes, Linen Thread.

To Step It Up this month, I moved the monster over just a tad, and added the saying to the outside with the Labeler Alphabet photopolymer stamp set.

Here are all the images in the Yummy in My Tummy stamp set (see 2017 Occasions Catalog for actual size), it's available in Wood-Mount or in Clear-Mount:

Don't forget to check out this year's Sale-a-Bration, to grab some FREE STAMPS while you're getting the rest of your supplies--it runs through March 31st!
