LAST CHANCE Holiday Items at 15% OFF!!!

My 15% OFF Birthday Sale only lasts til 11:50pm MT on December 31st, 2012. You may be thinking, "I do NOT want any more holiday products!"...and I agree! But, there are some fabulous products in the Holiday Catalog that you can use for upcoming occasions, and I want to keep you from kicking yourself for not getting them, 1) before the catalog ends on January 2nd and they are no longer available, and 2) during my 15% OFF Birthday Sale (only thru Dec 31st)!

Several products will be carrying over from the Holiday Catalog, and I will point those out if I use them on my samples. What I am trying to feature, is items you NEED to get now, because you won't be able to order them after January 2nd.

Core'dinations Card Stock: Gumball Green, Early Espresso & Cherry Cobbler
I can pass on the Gumball Green, but I encourage you to seriously consider the other two colors. The Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder is carrying over, but if you want a deep, dark cherry red to use on your Valentine's or Mother's Day projects, stock up on the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations Card Stock now! The Woodgrain Embossing Folder is also carrying over, but you won't be able to get the Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock to create your dark bark background after January 2nd.

Tulle Ribbon: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, & Early Espresso
None of the tulle ribbon appears to be carrying over, but again, Cherry Cobbler is such a great, rich color for Valentine's or Mother's Day. And the Crumb Cake and Early Espresso will provide excellent neutral blending.

Frosty Friends stamp
This individual stamp is available only in wood-mount, and while there is one snowman with faux antlers on his head, and lights around his body, there are three other snowmen with enough space between them that you can pick and choose the ones you want! If your Valentine's Day and Easter are usually covered in snow, the snowmen with little birdies, and even a bunny behind one, would make uniquely adorable images for your projects.

Owl Occasions Clear-Mount & Wood-Mount stamp sets
This stamp set is NOT scheduled to carry over, so if you LOVE owls like I do, you NEED to get this stamp set NOW! I realize that several of the stamps are holiday themed, however, this can be a great set for birthdays, using the balloon, gifts, party banner, and party hat. And the owl, branch, and leaves can be used for ANY OCCASION, and they are gender neutral!!! You're crazy to pass up this set!

Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags
I hear you saying, "Christmas is OVER, I don't need holiday tags!"...and you are right. However, each of these tags has a pattern printed on the back--most of which make great layers for quick and easy cards (especially with a set of Notecards & Envelopes!), any time of year. There are 25 tags in the package for only $3.95, and only 5 of those tags are red & green striped. Just put those away with your holiday wrapping paper, and you can use those next year.

Scentsational Season Bundles Clear-Mount & Wood Mount
Okay, there is no indication that either the Scentsational Season stamp set, or the coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits will be available again. There are a few elements in the bundle that are versatile enough for year-round use. The little cup and steam coming out of it would be great for Get Well gifts (think flu season & chicken soup mix!). And the little cup framelit makes an adorable 3D suitcase or handbag, which holds a chocolate nugget inside! Use the legs of the gingerbread man framelit, to die cut bones for your doggie pages. The star is a great image and framelit to use anytime...and there is the obvious use of the set for holiday themed projects like scrapbook pages or thank you cards. Oh, and when you buy the stamp set and the framelits together in the bundle, you save 15% off the retail price. If you order this by 11:50pm MT on Dec 31st, 2012, you will get my additional 15% OFF Birthday Sale applied, for a total savings of 30%!!!

Champagne Glimmer Paper
You really need to stock up with several packs of this paper. While it may be too late for your New Year's projects, this paper is *gorgeous* for wedding projects, and any vintage project to which you may wish to add a delicately aged-looking sparkle.

Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack
There are a BOATLOAD OF ANY OCCASION PATTERNS in this grand little stack of 48 double-sided 4-1/2"-6-1/2" papers...from neutrals for your "guy" cards, to brights for birthdays, and several red prints which would make darling accents on valentines...you are SET. And again, if you just want to use them for your holiday scrapbooking, they are conveniently sized to back your 4x6 prints.

Googlies (self-adhesive googly eyes)
Everyone NEEDS these little gems, especially if you have kids. Even if you don't make cards from scratch, your little ones will love dressing up their valentines with googly eyes! It's a great way to add interest to any project, without having to get all that nasty liquid glue all over your fingers (or table, or project).

Designer Ribbon Slides
You should only BUY these if you hate tying bows on your cards, and you hoard your ribbon! (I know, that's like...all of us.) Seriously, just string a length of ribbon or two through them, the width of your card, and just attach the ribbon right on front. SUPER easy way to get a finished look with very little ribbon or fuss. Also, these make cute "buckles" to thread ribbon through to hold your projects closed...a box for a set of gift cards, for example.

Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons
These are lightweight, flat, metallic buttons, with big holes, so it's easy to string thread, twine, or yarn through them. The brushed bronze finish coordinates with everything, and is especially handsome on vintage themed projects.

Gumball Green Embossing Powder
Okay, aside from the obvious use of creating the perfect, shiny, green gumball, this is the PERFECT color for any and all of your "spring green" projects. Think shamrocks, Easter grass, and fresh spring leaves. It will breathe new life into any spring project!

Lindor Truffle Box - New Year's Favor

I modified my Lindor Truffle Box just a little bit so you can use it as a New Year's favor. I designed the message horizontally first, but I am too picky to leave the message going one way, and the candy label going the other way. The candy wrapper is too bulky to simply turn it in the box to face the right way, so I ended up designing the same message vertically, with a tag for the greeting. You can see both versions below:

I made a Free Printable PDF for you which contains both the horizontal version, and the vertical version, so YOU can choose which you like best:

Download Lindor Truffle Box 2013 New Year Favor PDF

You can check out my Lindor Truffle Box Video Tutorial for basic directions, and here are some tips for the New Year's favors:

1) Before making your box, choose which orientation you would like, either horizontal or vertical, and cut out the appropriate 2013 panel.
2) Line up your 3/4" Circle Punch in the center of the explosion image that is used for the zero, and punch a 3/4" hole.
3) Begin making the box, according to the basic directions. HOWEVER, to punch the 1" hole in the box, place your 2013 panel on the unassembled box and mark an 'X' in the center of the 3/4" hole you made. Notice that for the horizontal orientation of the box, the 2013 panel is centered. For the vertical orientation, I shifted the 2013 panel down towards the bottom of the box. See the pictures below for placement of panel and marking of 'X' for each orientation.

4) Center the 'X' in your 1" Circle or Square Punch, and punch the hole out of the box, as shown below. Complete box assembly according to basic instructions.

To finish the horizontal box, I wrapped about 15" of Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine around each end of the box and tied each in a square knot. To finish the vertical box, I wrapped about 24" of twine around the top only, and tied in a double bow. (See video for demonstration of square knot, and double bow.)

To add the tag on the vertical box, punch a hole at one end of the tag, and string the tag onto the right trailing edge of the twine before tying your bow. Because the hole is so tiny, you may want to pull your twine through from the back, with a floss threader. See the pictures below for a quick tutorial on that. {Click any picture to see it larger}

I hope you enjoy making these...I have some assorted Lindor Truffles left over from making my Lindor Truffle Ornament Box, and this is the perfect remedy (to keep me from eating them all myself)!!!

Stampin' Supplies: Pacific Point card stock, Whisper White card stock (for printing PDF onto), Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, 1" Square or Circle Punch, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 3/4" Circle Punch, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Paper Piercer (or 1/16" hole punch) for tag...and of course, (3) Lindor Truffles for each box!

Lindor Truffle Ornament Box Video Tutorial

Here is a video of the Lindor Truffle Ornament Box I showed in my last post:

If you subscribe to my blog in email, you will need to click on the blog post title and view it in your browser, to watch the video. I apologize for the abruptness of the video ending, I was having technical difficulties and thought it best to just go ahead and get it posted!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Start with a 7"x5" piece of card stock. Score parallel to 7" side at 1", 2", 3", and 4". Turn card stock 1/4 turn and score parallel to 5" side at 1/2", 1-1/2", and 6".
2) Cut away all pieces marked with dark gray scribble in picture below. Snip along red lines.
3) Punch 1" Circle (or 1" Square--whichever punch you have that can reach best) in center of the body of the front of the box, as shown in picture below. The body is 4-1/2" long, so center your hole at 2-1/4".

4) Overlap rightmost flap over the top of the leftmost flap, and adhere to create box "tube". Glue bottom flaps closed.
5) Insert Lindor Truffles, folding the wrapper ends toward the back of the box, out of the way. The box holds three candies, make sure the center one you insert is the color wrapper you want showing. Close box top.
6) Stamp ornament in desired color and die cut with framelit. Punch a 3/4" circle from the center of the ornament.
7) Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere ornament over hole in box. (yes, the hole in the ornament is smaller than the one in the box--believe me, it looks so much better this way)
8) Wrap about 15" of Baker's Twine around bottom and tie in square knot. Wrap about 24" of Bakers Twine around top and tie in a bow, then tie another bow right on top of that, for a double bow.

Stampin' Supplies: Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, Holiday Ornament Framelits, (or, get the stamp set & framelits in a Bundle for 15% Savings!), Whisper White card stock, Pacific Point card stock, Marina Mist ink pad, Island Indigo Baker's Twine (you could adhere thin strips of coordinating patterned paper around top and bottom, instead of twine, if desired), 1" Circle Punch or 1" Square Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Snips, and Lindor Truffle candies :-)

Lindor Truffle Ornament Box

A stamping friend wanted a new gifting idea for Lindt Lindor Truffles, and I came up with this prototype. You can fit 3 truffles in the box, and only the center one is displayed, which makes it easier to color coordinate if you buy a box of assorted truffles, with different colored wrappers. Also, the box top opens, so the recipient doesn't have to tear it apart to get the candies out:

I decided that I wanted the background color to offset the ornament a bit, so I made another box using Pacific Point card stock instead of Whisper White. You could bling it up more by stamping a pattern on the box, and adding rhinestones or pearls, but they are great as-is if you're pressed for time. You can add a tag if you want, or just tuck them in stockings (from Santa & his Elves!), or set them at each place setting at your holiday dinner party:

These are fairly quick and easy to make, so I wanted to go ahead and post the instructions for you advanced stampers right now. I plan to make a quick run-through video to show you the assembly and give you some tips, but the sun goes down here like...well, right now. So, I'll need to tweak my lighting a bit. In the meantime, here are some words!

UPDATE: Check out a Video Tutorial for this project HERE.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Start with a 7"x5" piece of card stock. Score parallel to 7" side at 1", 2", 3", and 4". Turn card stock 1/4 turn and score parallel to 5" side at 1/2", 1-1/2", and 6".

Hershey Kiss Christmas Trees

This is such a super cute gift/favor, it takes very little cardstock, and very little time to make. It's pretty conservative on the candy budget, too, since you can fill about 8 trees from a standard 11oz bag of Kisses, and a 12oz bag of Nuggets will fill about 18 tree trunks! I followed Brenda Quintana's tutorial HERE, using her Timesaver Tips at the end, to cut for several at a time. Please make sure to leave a nice comment for Brenda if you use her tutorial :-)

The only thing I did differently, because I am such a cheapskate when it comes to ribbon, is that I simply popped a bow on top with a Mini Glue Dot. That only used about 12" of ribbon per tree, instead of the 20" per tree on the tutorial. Oh yeah, and I prefer using Tombow Multipurpose glue for everything, including the "tree trunk", so there's no Sticky Strip in my project. TIP: cut out one end square from the pieces that are folded in half (tree triangle & trunk) so you only have one layer of card stock folded over and adhered at the end. It just looks less bulky that way.

Stampin' Supplies: Garden Green cardstock, Chocolate Chip cardstock, Victoria Crochet Trim, Simply Scored tool, Paper Trimmer, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, (1) Mini Glue Dot for the bow.

Quick Perfect Pennants Christmas Tree Ornament

This ornament features the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die, and not too many other supplies, and it's quick and easy to assemble. The key to this project is the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is heavier than paper, but not as thick as cardstock, so it's easy to fold without measuring or scoring. I also added some color to mine (Marina Mist), to give it some texture and to match the scallop "tree skirt".

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Die cut 8 of the medium sized triangles, stamp one side if desired.
2) Die cut the larger scallop circle in coordinating card stock.
3) Fold each of the triangles exactly in half.
4) Glue half of one triangle to the back of the next half triangle.
5) Before you glue the last triangle backs together, insert a 15" length of string that has been folded in half, down the center of the tree, leaving the loop sticking out the top about 2".
6) Poke a hole in the center of the scalloped piece and run the string through.
7) Adhere Jumbo Pearls back to back, on string at top of tree, and under scalloped piece.

That's it in a nutshell, but I do have some tips. If you want to add some color to the paper, using a wheel is quick and easy. Just line up 3-4 of your triangles next to each other, ink up your wheel and roll it over. To find the center of your scalloped piece, die cut an extra one out of plain paper. Fold the paper one in half one way, then in half the opposite way, and the center is where the two lines meet. Lay the paper scallop over the cardstock scallop, and poke through the center point to mark it. And finally, if your knickers get in a twist over the white part of the Island Indigo Baker's Twine, you can drag it through your coordinating ink pad (I used Marina Mist) while holding it down with a Stampin' Sponge, so it's not stark white. Or, try coloring over it with a Blush Blossom marker.

Stampin' Supplies: Perfect Pennants Bigz Die (used with the Big Shot), First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper, Marina Mist cardstock & inkpad, Bella Boutique standard wheel (and handle), Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Jumbo Pearls, Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
